Terms & Condtions

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before booking with FurKids Retreat.

By proceeding with a booking, you agree to be bound by the following terms.

FurKids Retreat agrees to exercise due and responsible care, treat all pets with kindness, and prioritise their welfare at all times.

1. Minimum Booking Periods
a. A 5-day minimum booking applies during school holidays (peak periods).

b. A 14-day minimum booking applies during the Christmas / New Year school holiday period.
 

2. Deposits, Cancellations & Booking Changes

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm all bookings. This must be paid within 2 days of the booking being made. Failure to pay within this timeframe will result in the booking being automatically cancelled.

a. Cancellations

If a booking is cancelled with at least 14 days notice, the 50% deposit may be retained as a credit on your account for future use.

Cancellations made within 14 days of the scheduled check-in will result in the 50% deposit being forfeited - it cannot be transferred to a future booking.

If a booking is cancelled within 72 hours of check-in, the full booking amount is forfeited.

We do not offer refunds. If a booking has been paid in full and is cancelled with more than 14 days notice, 50% of the total booking amount may be retained as a credit for future use.

 

Once a booking is confirmed, accommodation is reserved specifically for your pet for the duration of their stay. To secure this, we may turn away other enquiries and roster staff according to occupancy levels to meet our care and welfare standards. For this reason, complete booking and deposit forfeitures apply.

It is the Owner’s responsibility to ensure they have appropriate travel insurance to cover changes to travel plans due to illness, injury, death, natural disaster, pandemic or other unforeseen circumstances. Costs incurred due to cancelled or altered travel plans are not the responsibility of FurKids Retreat.

b. Changes to Bookings

Booking changes made with less than 14 days notice of the scheduled check-in will result in the full original booking being charged.

If at least 14 days notice is provided, the booking may be adjusted accordingly, subject to availability.

If a booking is shortened after check-in (including early pick-up or reduced stay duration), no refunds or credits will be provided for unused days. Accommodation and staffing have already been allocated for the full duration of the original booking.

3. Day Rate Policy

Payment is based on a daily rate, regardless of drop-off or pick-up times. Check ins/Check outs are strictly within our displayed opening hours. Alternative times may be arranged but are subject to staff availability and an out of hours fee.

4. Final Payment

Full payment is required 48 hours prior to check-in.

5. Early Pick-Ups & Additional Charges

No refunds will be given for early pick-ups.

Any additional charges incurred during the stay must be paid prior to collection.

6. Credit Expiry

Account credits must be used within 12 months of issue.

7. Health & Vaccinations

The Owner confirms that all pets:

Are up to date with required vaccinations (C5 for dogs, F3 for cats)

Are current with flea, tick and worm prevention

Have not been exposed to any contagious disease within the past 6 weeks

8. Ownership Declaration

The Owner confirms they are the legal owner of the pet(s) and that all information provided is true and correct.

 

9. Use of Images

The Owner gives permission for images and videos of their pet(s) to be used in FurKids Retreat marketing and promotional materials, including social media and website content.

 

10. Pet Welfare, Veterinary Care & Emergency Decisions

FurKids Retreat is authorised to take any action deemed necessary to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of the pet(s), including seeking veterinary care.

The Owner gives full authority for FurKids Retreat to consult with and authorise treatment by a veterinarian. All veterinary and associated costs are the responsibility of the Owner and must be paid prior to collection.

Every reasonable effort will be made to contact the Owner. If the Owner cannot be contacted, FurKids Retreat will act in the best interests of the pet(s). In serious situations, the veterinarian’s recommendation shall be final.

While all reasonable care is taken, FurKids Retreat is not liable for illness, injury, loss, damage, escape or death except where caused by a failure to provide services with due care and skill or where liability cannot be excluded under Australian law.

 

11. Risk Acknowledgement

The Owner acknowledges the inherent risks associated with animal care, including illness, injury, tick paralysis, kennel cough, canine influenza, accident, loss or death. FurKids Retreat accepts no liability where reasonable care has been exercised.

 

12. Liability for Damages

The Owner is financially responsible for any injury, harm or damage caused by their pet(s) to people, animals or property.

 

13. Lien for Unpaid Fees

FurKids Retreat maintains a lien over the pet(s) until all fees are paid in full.

14. Abandonment & Non-Payment

If payment is not received and no contact is made within two (2) weeks of the scheduled pick-up date, FurKids Retreat may arrange rehoming or alternative placement in accordance with applicable laws.

The Owner remains liable for all outstanding fees.

15. Pricing

Rates may change from time to time. Confirmed bookings will be charged at the rate quoted when the deposit is paid.

16. Payment Methods

We accept Cash, Card and Direct Deposit. Credit card payments have a 2% surcharge. Direct Deposit details can be found on the invoice

17. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies rights available under the Australian Consumer Law.

 

18. Amendments

These Terms may be updated at any time. It is the Owner’s responsibility to ensure they have read and accepted the current Terms prior to each booking.

19. Behaviour & Suitability

FurKids Retreat is a social, chalet-style environment. We reserve the right to refuse or end a stay if a pet’s behaviour poses a risk or is unsuitable.

Additional management fees may apply for separate accommodation, increased supervision or extra handling.

If a stay is shortened or ended early due to behavioural or suitability concerns, no refunds or credits will be provided.

20. Zero-Tolerance Policy

FurKids Retreat operates a zero-tolerance policy towards aggressive, abusive, inappropriate, unkind or reputation damaging behaviour by clients. We reserve the right to refuse or terminate services indefinitely where such behaviour occurs.
